• Minimum 6 month’s security experience preferably working at tough sites in Downtown Eastside Vancouver.
• Speak, read and write fluent English, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A lot of comprehensive and well written reports are required for every shift.
• Physically fit to patrol long distances continuously and climb a multitude of stairs as well as conduct regular evictions of trespassers.
• Pleasant in demeanor and project a professional and well-groomed image.
• Customer-service focused and a team player, with strong attention to detail.
• Positive and outgoing personality, a self-starter with high initiative.
• Class 5 Driver’s Licence with clean abstract

• Monitor First Aid calls and assess treatment as required
• Maintain First Aid supplies including emergency kits, oxygen tanks, wheelchairs, and first aid supplies
• Monitor OFA email and prepare relevant paperwork as required
• Ensure the interior and exterior of the Facility is secure
• Identify and report any unusual activity or persons
• Identify and report Facility damage
• Provide access and escort for Clients, Official and Unofficial Suppliers, and Contractors through Facility spaces as required
• Provide building lockdown and crowd control during facility related protests as required
• Monitoring for goods left unattended
• Unlock and lock retail washrooms per schedule
• Act as floor warden during emergency situations
• ** Intermediate First Aid Certification (previously Occupational First Aid Level 2) or higher

• Conduct mobile and foot patrols
• Responsible for the care and good working order of the assigned Company vehicle
• Inspect client property against, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activity
• Deter any criminal activity and other unwanted behavior, real or potential
• Respond to alarm calls in a timely manner
• Write incident and mobile reports outlining observations and activity during their assigned site visits and alarm responses
• Contact relevant authorities and Operations representative as per site / shift orders
• Train guards on sites, check on their performance and deportment
