After obtaining your BST Certification and security license, the next step to enhancing your career is the AST Certification. The AST course is an advanced Security Officer course and will help prepare you to work in the field of Private Security. If you successfully complete the course, you will receive a Certificate of Training Completion issued by the Justice Institute of BC. You will then be ready to apply for your licence endorsement to carry handcuffs while performing your duties as a Security Professional. This certification will provide you with the skills you need to safely and effectively control a variety of situations.
Many individuals who acquire the AST Certification from Genesis Security Training Academy obtain positions in Government, Loss Prevention and Special Events. In order to receive the AST certification, you must complete a three-day course and pass the exam with 75%.

Genesis Training Academy is now re-introducing Weekday and Weekend Classes for AST (Advanced Security Training) Course.
Keeping up with the changing situations of Covid-19, we are restricting the number of people per class to 6-8. The exam is online and can be taken from home at your convenience within 2 weeks of the end of the course. You will need to have a computer/ laptop with a camera and a speaker to take the exam. Our AST course is designed to provide you with in-depth security knowledge and expertise.
